The IOA President, Mr Isidoros Kouvelos, had a meeting with the new administration of the Pan-Hellenic Union of Sport Press where they discussed on continuing the collaboration between the two parties.
The discussion focused on the “familiarisation” of the sports journalists, both Greek and foreign, with the IOA premises in Ancient Olympia and on the organization on behalf of the Pan-Hellenic Union of Sport Press of the 5th summer school in October which is organized for students of journalism and sport journalists and becomes more successful every year. In addition, the two parties talked about the organization of the International Session for Sports Journalism under the auspices of the AIPS. The aim is the promotion of the IOA’s role for the cultivation, development and propagation of the Olympic ideal through Olympic Education programmes.
Mr Kouvelos unveiled his plans for the total renovation of the IOA facilities in Ancient Olympia, so that they become more functional and attract more people and thus, make the IOA financially independent.
At this meeting, the Pan-Hellenic Union of Sport Press was represented by: its President, Mr Yiannis Theodorakopoulos, the 2nd Vice-President, Ms Christina Amerikanou, the Secretary General, Mr Dimos Mpouloukos and the Special Secretary, Mr Fanis Skiftas.
