The Opening Ceremony of the 54th International Session of the International Olympic Academy for Young Participants will take place on Monday, June 16th at 19:00 on the hill of the Pnyx.

The Opening Ceremony of the 54th International Session of the International Olympic Academy for Young Participants will take place on Monday, June 16th at 19:00 on the hill of the Pnyx. The IOC President, Dr Thomas Bach and the First Lady of Ajerbaijan and President of the Organizing Committee for the European Games “Baku 2015” H.E. Mehriban Aliyeva, will honour the ceremony with their presence.

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr Carolos Papoulias, will declare the opening of the works of the Session while the President of the International Olympic Academy, Mr Isidoros Kouvelos, the President of the International Olympic Committee, Dr Thomas Bach, and the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Mr Spyros Capralos, will address the audience.

200 participants from 96 countries will attend the works of the Session that will be held in the IOA premises in Ancient Olympia until June 28th. The basic subject of the Session is “Olympic Values” and its special subject is “Olympic Values: Respect for diversity”.

13 lecturers and 27 coordinators will participate in the Session in Ancient Olympia. The programme of the Session also includes educational trips to archeological sites.
