New synergy between the IOA and the Olympic Council of Asia

The International Olympic Academy has proceeded to the signing of an MoU agreement with the Olympic Council of Asia, in Riyadh, on 28 October 2022.

The MoU was signed by the IOA President, Mr Isidoros Kouvelos and the OCA Acting President, Raja Randhir Singh, with the presence of the Saudi Minister of Sports and NOC President, HRH the Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Alfaisal Al Saud, the NOC Vice-President and NOA President, HH the Prince Fahad bin Jalawi Al Saud, and the IOC Vice President and Member of the IOA Ephoria, Mr Ser Miang NG.

Through this MoU, IOA aims to create new forms of synergies with the umbrella organization of sport in Asia and to develop new educational opportunities in the Asian societies, in order to  promote Olympic Values, such as international respect, friendship and peace.

 The signing of the MoU took place within the context of the 1st Saudi Games, the largest national sport event in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of more than 6000 athletes, competing in 45 sports.
