The 2018 International Olympic Academy Sessions begin

The International Olympic Αcademy is once again ready for a year of great educational activities which begins on May 6 with the 14th Joint International Session for Presidents or Directors of National Olympic Academies & Officials of National Olympic Committees.

The Session will be hosted at the IOA premises in Ancient Olympia, from May 6 to May 13, with 140 delegates of NOAs and NOCs from 90 countries.

The main subject of the Session that will be developed by 10 eminent lecturers is “The Athlete as a Role Model” and its special subject is “Olympians promoting Olympism: Knowledge and Experiences in Olympic Education”. The Opening Ceremony will take place in the afternoon of Monday, May 7 with the presence of the IOA President, Mr Isidoros Kouvelos.

The 1st Vice-President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Mr Stelios Aggeloudis, and the Chairwoman of the Women and Sport Commission of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Mrs Xenia Argeitaki, are amongst the lecturers.

The participants will arrive on Sunday, May 6 and will depart for Olympia on the following day. The works of the Session will be concluded on Friday, May 11 with the Closing Ceremony and the delegates will depart for Athens on May 12.

The following Session will be the 58th International Session for Young Participants which will take place in Ancient Olympia from June 16 to June 30.
