Biography:

Philipp WAEFFLER, born in 1971, is working at the Swiss Federal Institute of SportMagglingen as a Lecturer & Coaching Education Manager. He is a qualified primary and secondary school teacher, has a Master's degree in Olympic Studies and diplomas in coaching and sports management. He has worked as a teacher, in the private industry and in professional sports. In 1996, he took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta as a Modern Pentathlon athlete for Switzerland. After his active career as an athlete, he was the national coach for Canada(2002-2008) and Great Britain (2009-2012), and was also Sports Director at theInternational Modern Pentathlon Federation for several years and still serves as FISU Technical Delegate. He is a member of the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee and Panathlon International.
