Singapore, November 2024 – The Singapore Olympic Academy (SOA) is absolutely delighted to share that the 29^th Annual Academic Session was successfully held at Dunman High School, Singapore from November 15 to 17 2024

The Session, which was launched by Mr Ng Ser Miang, Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Singapore Olympic Academy, attracted attendees from 11 countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Singapore. 

This year, the SOA even had the pleasure of hosting Mr Senathiraj Thevaratnam, Deputy Director of the Malaysian Olympic Academy, who served enthusiastically on the panel of facilitators for the 3D2N Session. This cross-border cooperation is indeed the Olympic Value of “Friendship” in action!

For this year, the diverse group of attendees to the SOA Session included Physical Education teachers, sports administrators, coaches and representatives from the various National Sports Associations.

Going by the theme of “The Athlete in Society: Empowering Olympic Values through Sports & Physical Education” over three days, attendees had the opportunity to be engaged in vibrant discussions on Olympism and the Olympic Values, learnt from the best practices of the invited speakers, take part in site visits to the Singapore Sports Museum & the Singapore Sports Institute, learn from each other during Cultural Night and even have a memorable Q&A with 3 Singapore Olympians.

The session provided an platform to exchange ideas, foster connections and explore the evolving role of athletes in our society. Judging from the enthusiastic feedback and smiles all around, the 29^th Annual Academic Session was a resounding success. The Organising Committee eagerly looks forward to welcoming everyone again in 2025!
