Argentine Olympic Academy 2023-2024 Report
XXXIX Argentine Olympic Academy Session
Between September 25th and 29th, the XXXIX Session of the Argentine Olympic Academy was held with the presence of 36 young people from different provinces of our country and representatives of National Federations.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the President of the COA, Mr. Mario Moccia, the President of the AOA, Dr. Carlos A. Marino, accompanied by the Secretary General of the COA, Mr. Victor S. Groupierre, and the NOC members, Laura Martinel, Jorge Monge, Mauro Grandio Buzaleh, Emiliano Ojea and the General Manager Martin Bonjour.
In the morning, the participants attended classes, where the following topics were discussed: Leadership in sport, the Structure of the Olympic Movement, Networks and artificial intelligence, Olympic Education, A Mission to the Olympic Games, Sport as a tool to educate in healthy habits, Election of candidate cities for the Olympic Games, International Olympic Academy, Anti-Doping Education, Talent Detection and Olympic Experiences.
The national speakers in this session were: Carlos Marino, Silvia Dalotto, Carlos Ferrea, Silvina Valoppi, Ma Julia Garisoain, Hora Anselmi, Rocio Vazquez Cerro and José Luis Marcó. Meanwhile, the Spanish Emilio Fernandez Peña joined us as an international speaker.
We especially highlight the visit of Sabrina Ameghino, Cecilia Carranza Saroli, who told us about their Olympic and life experiences. They were joined by the student Belén Aizen.
In the afternoon the participants carried out sports activities and joined work groups. These groups were coordinated by professors Constanza Eckhardt and Pablo Zarate. In the administrative task we have the valuable collaboration of Juan Pablo Gómez.
The groups worked on 10 questions corresponding to problems of the Olympic Movement and topics the Session program. The conclusions were presented by the groups, and they also completed an individual written evaluation.
At the end of the session and according to the evaluations Valentina Marchetti and Santiago Duggan were chosen to represent the NOA at the IOA Session 2024.
Pan Am Games Santiago 2024
The NOA created an Olympic Education Guide Based on the Pan American Games with the Collaboration of past participants of the Argentine Olympic Academy Sessions.
The creation of an Olympic education guide represented a significant opportunity to promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect among youth.
Connected with the Pan American Games allowed us to leverage their experience, knowledge, and passion for the Olympic Movement.
This project aimed to inspire and educate new generations on the importance of sport as a tool for personal development and the building of a fairer and more peaceful society.
The Guide was launches in March 2023 and the Games were held in November 2023.
