Association of African Olympic Academies
The actions of the Association of African National Olympic Academies (AANOA) for 2019 were:
- The organization of the African National Olympic Academy Sessions with the 5th Session taking place from 12 to 15 March 2020 in Bamako, Mali
- Participation of the Association in the 15th International IOA Session for Presidents or Directors of National Olympic Academies in May 2019.
- Participation of its President in the meeting of the Presidents of Zone 1 of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ACNOA) in Tunisia on 20 December 2019.
- Signing on 4 July 2019 of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Cameroon represented by the Minister of Sport and Physical Education with the aim of providing financial and other support to the African Centre for Olympic Studies.
- Signing on 8 July 2019 of a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Tunis, which will offer to the Association an educational and communication platform which will help in the implementation of its projects.
- Creation of the 2nd edition of the African Olympic Academy Competition with the aim of promoting and highlighting the Olympic values in Africa, by awarding a prize to the Academy that would present the best project.
The actions of the African Olympic Studies Centre established by the Association of National Olympic Academies of Africa in Yaoundé and inaugurated on 15 March 2018, under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa were as follows:
- Organization of a scientific symposium on "Interculturalism of Olympism".
- Validation of two Masters'in Olympic Studies at Yaoundé II University, Soa.
- Establishment of Pierre de Coubertin university department in Olympic sciences.- Creation of a documentary Pierre de Coubertin.
- Launch of a research programme on traditional games and sports in Africa (2018–2022).
- Organization of the ACNOA National Olympic Academy Seminar in Zone 4 held in, New Guinea on 15 and 16 July 2019.- Visit of Dr Thomas Bach on 15 November 2019 to the African Centre for Olympic Studies.
