The French National Olympic Academy aims to promote sports and Olympic values and to develop many educational programmes. The Academy's activities are focused on many pillars: scientific research, culture, heritage and international cooperation.For ten years, the Academy has been conducting scientific research through the French Centre for Olympic Studies (CEOF). This network of experts and researchers on Olympic issues aims to promote and develop research on Olympic issues.At the same time, the National Olympic Academy of France, through CEOF, encourages research in sports, Olympism, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, mainly in the Humanities and Social Sciences. This promotion of research is part of the scholarship programme of the French Centre for Olympic Studies, which together with the Academy funds three annual research grants.The research projects address issues jointly identified by the Academy and the French National Olympic and Sports Committee. The challenge of the programme is to create knowledge that will lead to scientific publications at the same time as the Academy becomes in charge of Olympic studies in France and is the interlocutor with French and international university research centres.In collaboration with the French Centre for Olympic Studies and the Olympic and Paralympic Cultural Education Centre, the Olympic University Sessions are one of the major programmes organized by the Academy and are based on the concept of "dissemination of Olympic ideals in French student youth and the promotion of sports practice among students". It is a scientific, sports, educational, cultural and multidisciplinary programme for students.The Olympic University Sessions focus on various contents such as the practice of sports activities, the discovery of local sports heritage, the theoretical sequences that offer scientific knowledge and discussions about Olympism. This unique experience encourages students in their area to engage with the world of sports and Olympism.
